至暗时刻，总会有人挺身而出
寒风呼啸，天上布满乌云。在乌克兰与波兰的交界处，源源不断的难民--其中大多是妇女孩子，进入波兰境内。
与此同时，也有一群群三五成群的男人与难民们擦肩而过，逆向而行，进入乌克兰---这个生命没有保障的国度。
这些男人是来自世界各国的志愿者。他们要拿起枪来，保卫一个看似与自己没有关系的国家，保护那些与自己没有血缘关系的人民。
看到记者采访一名志愿者，他是美国海军陆战队的退役士兵。问到参战的理由，他淡淡地说：“我不能无视远方的苦难。”
他的回答让我的心头一热。是啊，在自己的国家，这个人有属于自己的幸福生活---老婆、孩子、工作、福利......然而因为怜悯和同情，他却放下这一切，冒着生命危险，来到一个炮火连天、子弹横飞的地界。
来自立陶宛的退役士兵利蒙塔斯说：“我身体健康，而且很年轻，接受过作战训练---如果我不善加利用这些，那就太自私了。如果我能为哪个孩子挡一颗子弹，那也值了。”
风萧萧兮易水寒，壮士一去不复还。从利蒙塔斯的话中，可以看到这些志愿兵视死如归的决心。
昨天有消息称，已经有三名来自英国的志愿兵，因俄军的轰炸而身亡，把鲜血洒在了异国的土地之上。
《时代周刊》说：“与其说是一种意识形态，不如说是一种人道主义冲动，引导着许多人前往乌克兰。”
“人道主义冲动”，这个词描述了在这些志愿者心中的，一种奔涌的力量。这种力量来自爱与公义。
一名48岁的法国司机说：“我对俄罗斯人真的没有任何任何敌意。我去那里是为了保护人类，因为我自己有一个8岁的孩子。”
一个西班牙人说，他之所以去，是因为“你的心在呼唤着你去帮助需要的人。”
前美国海军陆战队队员赫克托在登记前说：“制裁能起作用，但制裁没法立刻起作用。而我现在就可以帮忙。”
帮助乌克兰的志愿者除了来自欧美以外，还有的来自澳大利亚、日本、韩国、以色列等国。
“世界顶级狙击手”悄然进入乌克兰
有一个来自加拿大的志愿兵，被称为世界顶级狙击手。据说他在中东，曾创下过距离3450米射杀恐怖分子的纪录。
但这位称呼瓦力的志愿兵在脸书上却谦虚地说：“不，我没有保持远距离射击的世界纪录。我远远不是最好的狙击手。现实是，我现在只是一个拿起狙击枪的程序员。仅此而已。”
瓦力的到来，让毛子和俄粉感到恐慌。俄粉一度放出消息，说瓦力在一次轰炸中身亡，但他很快就现身辟谣说，自己安然无恙，正在去前线的路上。
瓦力家里有妻子，有一个一岁多的孩子。他在接受CBC记者采访时说：“一周前，我还在家里编程。哪里想到，现在却在仓库里手持反坦克导弹迎击敌人......我必须来帮助他们。因为他们正在遭受轰炸，只是因为他们想成为欧洲人而不是俄罗斯人。我来这里是出于人道主义原因。”

他不仅用自己的枪，也用自己的笔，描述了那种超越国界和种族的高尚感情。

Madam Speaker, members of the Congress, ladies and gentlemen, Americans, friends, I’m proud to greet you from Ukraine, from our capital city of Kyiv, a city that is under missile and airstrikes from Russian troops every day. But it doesn’t give up, and we have not even thought about it for a second.

It threw tanks and planes against our freedom, against our right to live freely in our own country choosing our own future. Against our desire for happiness, against our national dreams, just like the same dreams you have, you Americans. Just like anyone else in the United States.

I remember your national memorial in [Mount] Rushmore, the faces of your prominent presidents, those who laid the foundation of the United States of America as it is today — democracy, independence, freedom and care for everyone, for every person, for everyone who works diligently, who lives honestly, who respects the law. We in Ukraine want the same for our people. All that is a normal part of your own life.

Remember September 11th, a terrible day in 2001 when evil tried to turn your cities, independent territories in battlefields. When innocent people were attacked from air. Just like nobody else expected it, you could not stop it.

Our country experienced the same every day. Right now, at this moment, every night for three weeks now, various Ukrainian cities……Russia has turned the Ukrainian sky into a source of death for thousands of people. Russian troops have already fired nearly 1,000 missiles at Ukraine, countless bombs, they use drones to kill us with precision. This is a terror that Europe has not seen, has not seen for 80 years and we are asking for a reply, for an answer to this terror from the whole world.

And you know that they exist, and you have them, but they are on earth, not in the Ukrainian sky. They do not defend our people.

I’m grateful to President Biden for his personal involvement, for his sincere commitment to the defense of Ukraine and democracy all over the world. I am grateful to you for the resolution which recognizes all those who commit crimes against Ukraine, against the Ukrainian people as war criminals. However, now, it is true in the darkest time for our country, for the whole Europe, I call on you to do more. New packages of sanctions are needed, constantly, every week until the Russian military machine stops.

All American ports should be closed for Russian goods. Peace is more important than income and we have to defend this principle in the whole world.

We already became part of the anti-war coalition, a big anti-war coalition that unites many countries, dozens of countries, those who reacted in principle to President Putin’s decision to invade our country, but we need to move on and do more. We need to create new tools to respond quickly and stop the war, the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24th. And it would be fair if it ended in a day, that in 24 hours, that evil would be punished immediately. Today the world does not have such tools. The war of the past have prompted our predecessors to create institutions that should protect us from war, but they unfortunately don’t work. We see it, you see it, so we need new ones, new institutions, new alliances and we offer them.

Being the leader of the world means to be the leader of peace. Peace in your country doesn’t depend any more only on you and your people. It depends on those next to you and those who are strong. Strong doesn’t mean big. Strong is brave and ready to fight for the life of his citizens and citizens of the world. Of human rights for freedom, for the right to live decently and to die when your time comes and not when it is wanted by someone else, by your neighbor.
